International Competition                                        Deadline:  October 05, 2018

  • Directors, 35 years old or younger, who are from different countries or the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan may participate in the International Competition section of the festival;
  •  The competition covers nominations for feature films, documentaries, animated movies and experimental films;
  • To participate in the competition, a participation form placed on www.old.filmfestival.az website must be filled out;
  • The films submitted should be the production of 2017 – 2018, and their chronometers should not exceed 35 minutes;
  • Links and synopsis (in English) of the films are sent via the Internet (E-mail: startfestival@gmail.com);
  • Films should be sent in English with subtitles or audio translation. In addition, the dialogue and the text of each film should be translated into English and presented in writing;
  • The deadline for the submission of the films is  October 05, 2018;
  • The films submitted are reviewed and included in the competition program by the Selection Commission consisting of the three people appointed by the Organizing Committee;
  • The list of films included in the competition will be posted on www.old.filmfestival.az website;
  • The international jury consisting of five members will evaluate the films competing for the “GOLDEN POMEGRANATE” Award in the International Competition;
  • The winners of the contest will be presented with “GOLDEN POMEGRANATE” award on these nominations:
    – The best feature film
    – The best documentary
    – The best animated movie
    – The best experimental film
    – The special prize of the jury
    Awards will be presented at the closing ceremony of the festival.
